Five Point Star was created by Tamy Starr to introduce to you a new approach to Meditation and to enable her to share her knowledge on Self Awareness. She is dedicated to help bring about a shift in public awareness, a shift in your focus towards a positive outlook in life, a shift to a new way of perceiving your life.
Born in the U.K. to parents from two different cultures and nationalities, she lived through her childhood and teenage years in different countries and was exposed to a variety of religions, cultures and their people. In her early twenties she continued with her extensive travelling throughout Europe, South America and Asia and then settled in Sydney, Australia. She feels privileged and fortunate to have these experiences in her life for they have partly shaped who she has become today.
Tamy’s experience with Meditation began over 13 years ago after marriage and motherhood left her with a sense of having lost her identity. Practicing meditation on a regular basis Tamy understood that meditation is the primary step towards Self Awareness.
Over the years Tamy became aware of the misconceptions people hold about Meditation.
Being such a valuable tool in promoting well being and in particular Self Awareness, Tamy felt there was a need for a simpler and more practical style of Meditation that would be approachable to a wider audience and not just to a select few. A form of Meditation that would help overcome those barriers that many people perceive when considering Meditation, a specific approach that would encourage and promote active listening and a heightened sense of “feeling” or being in tune with the body, the fundamental steps in developing Self Awareness.
Tamy has spent three years researching Meditation and developing this new approach, the Five Point Star Meditation.
As a teenager Tamy experienced a traumatic period which was the beginning of her journey towards Self Awareness. Other difficult and challenging times throughout her single and married life continued to support her realisation of the importance of developing Self Awareness and how this feeling of clarity, a sense of self and an awareness of the body as a whole can improve a person’s quality of life.
From her personal experience extending 20 years and research into Self Awareness, Tamy has transferred her knowledge into Audio CDs on Self Awareness in the Five Point Star Self Awareness series.
These CDs provide for simple and practical tools to help you learn how to access and understand about Self Awareness and how this inherent knowledge can help you improve every aspect of your life whether at work, in your relationships, in your emotional and physical health or with your children.
In recent years Tamy has also worked as a Qualified Pilates Instructor teaching and encouraging people to learn how to focus and understand their body for better health, but Tamy has always been passionate about encouraging people to help and understand themselves on both a physical and spiritual level.
A calm person with a strong presence, she radiates confidence and positiveness, and people find her attitude towards life inspiring. With her unique insights about life and her uncomplicated way of seeing things, she is able to open people’s eyes to see and experience the positive in their lives, to see their potential in life.
‘Being more aware of our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical self helps us to create balance within ourselves, our bodies and our lives. Internal balance will then manifest as balance in our external lives’, says Tamy.
This insight changed my perception and my attitude towards life. It helped me transform my life, my body, my views, relationships, mothering and my self. I found my internal balance through meditation and self awareness, and I am living it everyday.
